Currently my wife Tina and I own and operate River Rock Music LLC Downtown

I am uniquely qualified to represent the people of
Shiawassee County,
in large part, due to my varied work experience.
As a young boy, I worked for local vegetable farms. Later, restaurant ‘helper’;
construction;
bus washer/mechanic/body shop assistant at Indian Trails.
1976-1981 I traveled the US and Canada, on and off with my band "Earth Cry" and "Time Peace". It was during this time, 1976, that I began tuning pianos. Leaving the road to pursue more stable work, I began learning to restore pianos at our Clinton street shop in Owosso. During this period, with the assistance of a Master Piano technician from Lansing, Johnson Piano became a complete piano restoration shop serving Shiawassee County and reaching a tri-state area and beyond with our work.
In 1985, Osburn Music was purchased from Marge Osburn, and developed into a full line music store in downtown Owosso, Johnson Piano and Music, Inc. We closed in 1991, after experiencing the pressures of direct mail order catalog Music Merchants. From 1991 to 1994, I developed a catalog sales business using flyers and direct mail. In 1994 however, my attention began to sharply focus on the internet. JacksMusicStore.com began as a membership "wholesale club for musicians". Soon after, as internet technology became more available, lists of thousands of products were offered world wide. By 2002, it was becoming clear that I could not handle all the webmastering, so a partnership with a local webmaster provided a shopping cart for our site and allowed customers to purchase our products directly online. Today, we own and operate state of the art servers at our location in Corunna and offer Ecommerce web hosting through Rock Ecommerce.com.
Interspersed throughout my adult life, I have been involved in religious, primarily, Christian music ministry, transcribing and recording original compositions for publishing, choir and music direction, performance, sound installation, engineering and live sound production. Currently, I am producing and publishing a website hosted on our own servers here in Corunna MI for St Johns United Church of Christ of Owosso, Pastor John Downing, featuring Video and Audio streaming of the church services. This technology is now delivering the ministry of St Johns UCC in Owosso, around the world through StJohnsPeace.com
This diversified experience has allowed a measure of empathy
and insight into people's lives.
An understanding of some of the finest 19th century technology, the piano,
and the latest in computer technology from the late 20th and 21st century has allowed
me to meet and work
with a very diverse group of people.
I am now looking forward to serving our community as County Commissioner.
